You can now pay for your rental using a debit card, offering greater flexibility and more convenience. While certain conditions apply, this new payment option ensures a seamless rental experience for more customers.
How to book
Follow our easy booking process on www.woodford.co.za and simply select debit card payment on the confirmation screen. You’ll see the rental costs broken down in the cost summary section. When booking in-branch, debit card transactions will be handled by our rental agents, who will guide you through the terms, deposit, and fees before processing.
Deposits and admin fees
View our Deposits and Waivers Rates Schedule to understand the deposit amounts for debit card and credit card bookings. An admin fee of 5% of the daily rental rate (capped at R1000) applies to all debit card rentals. One debit card can be used per rental and the same card must be used for booking and collection.
Extending your rental booking
Unfortunately, debit card bookings for short-term rentals cannot be extended. Monthly in-branch renewals are required for long-term rentals.
Refunds process
Refunds are processed 7–10 working days after the rental agreement is closed.
Vehicles which can be booked with a debit card
Debit card payments are restricted to selected vehicle classes. View our Deposits and Waivers Rates Schedule to see which vehicles can be rented with a debit card.
Paying traffic fines
Traffic fines cannot be charged to debit cards and will need to be settled separately. If you get a traffic fine in your rented car, we will communicate with you and send you an invoice to make the payment by EFT (bank transfer).
Credit checks
We'll do a credit check for South African customers. This is a quick process to assess your credit history and does not affect your credit rating. For foreign customers, a passport and license check will be conducted when you use a debit card, you'll also need to show your proof of return flight.
