The Nedbank Golf Challenge is South Africa’s premier men’s tournament, and while it doesn’t form part of any major tours, it does attract the world’s highest-ranking players. The prize money – totaling $6.5 million – has something to do with that, but for spectators, the thrill is in watching the likes of Louis Oosthuizen, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia, and spending a few days at Sun City.

Port Elizabeth plays host to rugby’s abridged version of the game when the IRB Sevens Rugby World Series comes to South Africa on the 7th and 8th of December. Growing in popularity over the years, the Sevens Series takes place in nine countries, with the state-of-the-art Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium the venue chosen for the third leg of the series (following The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, UAE).
Rugby isn’t the only focus as festivities include live entertainment and events taking place at Port Elizabeth’s beaches.
